Local sources say that the military junta regained control of the Goke Hteik Bridge and the Goke Dwin Road, which connect Naung Pein Village and Naung Cho-Kyaukme Township in northern Shan State.
Since the military junta has full control of Naung Pein Village and the Goke Dwin Road. The military junta is also trying hard to repair the broken bridges on that road as support routes.
“Goke Hteik Bridge is close to the Naung Pein Road junction on the Kyaukme side, so the fact that Goke Hteik has been taken over means that the Goke Dwin Road has been fully taken over,”
a local resident in northern Shan told BBM. Similarly,Goke Hteik Bridge on the Kyaukme side, which collapsed about 30 feet on August 24, has also been regained control of Goke Hteik Bridge, which collapsed about 30 feet on August 24, and the military junta is preparing the bridge as early as yesterday, August 29, to use it as a support route as soon as possible.
The military junta has regained control of Goke Dwin road, which makes the Naung Cho-Kyaukme road an easy route for the military junta to use as a supply route.
On August 27, the military junta and the TNLA representatives met for the third time in Kunming, China, but the talks failed to produce a result.
Therefore, local residents in northern Shan state are saying that battle may intensify in areas controlled by the TNLA.
