A 60-year-old non-CDM health worker (HA-1) under the military junta, who was detained in custody at the Letpanhla police station in Sint-Ku Township, Mandalay Region, following the military junta’s bombing of the Letpanhla police station in July, has absence from his relevant health department for 21 days, and the military junta has denied him his pension and other benefits, a source close to the regional health department told BBM on September 1.

The health worker, U Kyaw Moe Aung, refused to take a oath when he was arrested by the revolutionary forces, and was detained by the revolutionary forces at the Letpanhla police station before dying in the military junta’s bombing.

“The revolutionary forces went to arrest him. He didn’t take the oath. He died when the market and police station were bombed by the military junta,”

a source close to him told BBM. The Letpanhla police station had been under the control of the revolutionary forces since mid-July, and was bombed on July 29, killing 22 prisoners and prisoners of war and injuring about 30 others.

“Actually, he is on the military junta side.He didn’t inform the revolutionary forces. He wasn’t a sworn enemy. They knew about it. They knew that their people were in the camp. The military junta doesn’t think about anything if he’s no longer useful to them. They dare to kill even people of the same caste,”

a source close to him told BBM. The military junta is currently bombing 63 townships that have declared martial law to hold elections from the air, and has been training Non-CDM personnel on the ground since July to conduct elections.
