A column of over 100 soldiers, including members of the military junta and Pyu Saw Htee, entered Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region. The revolutionary joint forces attacked the military junta, killing eight members including a military junta captain, many others were injured and weapons and ammunition were seized, according to Saw Do Shinn, the News and Information Officer of the No.2 Operation Region of the People’s Defense Forces, who spoke to BBM.
On September 2, a 100-strong military junta column that entered villages in Kyaukkyi Township and the revolutionary joint forces engaged in a 4-hour battle, killing 8 military junta members, including a military junta captain, and many others and seven small arms, one RPG, ammunition, and some military equipment were seized, Saw Do Shinn said.He is the News and Information Officer of the No.2 Operation Region of the People’s Defense Forces.
“The enemy has entered villages in Kyaukgyi Township that we control. There are over 100 of them, including members of the military junta and the Pyu Saw Htee. During the battle, we also found the dead bodies of 8 other ranks, including a captain,”
officer Saw Do Shinn said. The battle lasted for more than 4 hours, and the military junta fired on the villagers with heavy weapons, including airstrikes.
“The battle lasted for four hours and the enemy dropped 100-pound bombs from the air. They fired with heavy weapons. They fired with 81 and 60 mm mortars,”
officer Saw Do Shinn said. During the battle, the revolutionary joint forces captured (7) small arms, (1) RPG, and some ammunition and military equipment.After the battle, the military junta retreated with defeat.
The attack was carried out by the joint forces of Operation Region No. (2), Bago Division Military Department, Operation Command (24), Nagani Battalion (P-29903), Battalion No. (3502) and KNLA Battalion No.(8).
