The AA has announced that the military junta dropped two 500-pound bombs on the private school in Kyauktaw, Rakhine State, killing 18 people, including students, injuring many others and more results are expected.

At around 1 am on September 12, the military junta dropped two 500-pound bombs on the private school in Thayet Tapin village, Kyauktaw Township, killing 18 students and injuring more than 20 others.

β€œThe plane dropped the bombs around 1:00 am. It dropped about 6 seconds after the plane was heard. It then circled around again. The landing lasted for about 10 minutes. After this incident, about 20 children died in the boarding-school. There were also houses near the boarding-school that were damaged,”

a local told BBM. The area where the junta dropped its bombs was not where there was fighting with the revolutionary forces, but it was mainly targeting civilians.

AA spokesman Khaing Thu Kha also said that 18 people were killed when the junta bombed the Pyinnyar Pann Khin High School in Kyauktaw at 1:00 am on September 12.
