βYes, the battle is fierce every day, and we have to back the armored vehicles and the 236th Infantry Battalion,β
a military source on the ground told BBM. The KIA-led revolutionary forces began their offensive in Bhamo in December 2024, capturing several junta battalions and the Bhamo airfield.
The military junta then began retaking the areas controlled by the revolutionary forces after resupplying them with warships and weapons from Bhamo through Mandalayβs Gaw Wain Port in August.
The source added that the military junta is also working to open communication routes to the 47th Infantry Battalion through the battalions they have recaptured.
“They are now working to build a road from the armored battalions, the 47th Infantry battalion, medical corps, and support corps on the other side,”
the source added. Bhamo is the second largest city in Kachin State. During the battle to capture the city, the revolutionary forces, including the KIA and KPDF, are fighting on the side of the revolutionary forces, while the military junta is also resisting with large reinforcements, including the troops under the 21st Operational Command Headquarters.
