After capturing the TNLA’s largest stronghold, Sakhan Thar village, on the Pyi Htaung Su Highway, the entrance of Kyaukme in the last week of September, it has been continuously attacking Kyaukme town.

Now, the military junta’s columns, which have been advancing along the Pyi Htaung Su Highway, have reached the edge of Ward 1, the entrance to Kyaukme town, and fighting is taking place inside the town, according to local sources.

“The areas surrounding ward 1 are already being invaded, and some small arms fire can be heard in the town,”

a local military source told BBM. In addition, the military junta’s columns have already entered the town area, so most of the remaining residents in the town have begun to evacuate.

“Most of the town has already evacuated, and today there are many people who are fleeing in the rain on motorbikes,”

a local added. In addition, the military junta has set up a separate military junta column to pressure Kyaukme town not only from the Pyi Htaung Su Highway but also from the Mine Tine village junction, and after the military junta captured Sakhan Thar village, fierce fighting has also broken out around Mine Tine village.

The TNLA withdrew some military posts and gate posts in Mine Tine village at the request of villagers the previous day, while the SSPP/SSA has also increased its military presence.

In addition, after the military junta columns arrived near Kyaukme town, some of the TNLA’s leaders, including the administrative groups in the town, are retreating from Kyaukme town, a local military said .

“Of course, Ward (1) is part of the town, The situation in this area has increased significantly. I also heard that the TNLA and the leaders of the Kyaukme district special operations group are also moving,”

the military sources said.၏ The military junta launched a massive offensive on Kyaukme town on August 28, using heavy weapons, airstrikes and drones, and a month later, it reached the edge of Ward (1) in Kyaukme town.
