As the violent attacks of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) continue to increase in the northern border area of Maungdaw, the AA is conducting a clearance operation, and there are ongoing clashes between the two sides, according to Maungdaw residents.

Since the end of September, the terrorist Muslim armed groups (ARSA, RSO, ARA, and RIM) have been increasing their military operations along the Rakhine-Bangladesh border, and there have been ambushes and shootings against civilians, so the AA is conducting a clearance operation.

In recent days, the AA has been conducting a clearance operation along the Rakhine-Bangladesh border, and there have been clashes with the terrorist Muslim armed group ARSA, resulting in many ARSA members being killed and more than 10 injured in the battle. They are being taken to Cittagong District in Bangladesh for medical treatment, according to Maungdaw residents.

“The AA is continuously clearing the area along the Maungdaw border from terrorist ARSM groups. The ARSA groups are suffering a lot. They are targeting civilians. And those injured in the battle with the AA are fleeing to Bangladesh for medical treatment,”

a local from Maungdaw told BBM. The terrorist Muslim armed groups ARSA and RSO are also building camps in Bangladesh with the help of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and are sneaking into the Maungdaw border area via sea.

Currently, ARSA and RSO groups are operating near the Nat River on the Maungdaw border. There are infiltration activities in the Mayu and Wai Lar mountains and that the AA is also carrying out attacks on its border posts, according to local residents.

On October 5, the ARSA terrorist group attacked three civilians traveling between Leik Yakwa Sone and Tharyar Kone villages in Maungdaw Township, causing one civilian injured.

“The three locals were carrying goods from Taungpyo Letwe township to Aung Tharyar village on a motorcycle when they were attacked by ARSA. First, the ARSA groups attacked with mines. Then they opened fire with small arms. One of them was injured,”

a trader in Maungdaw Township said. Since ARSA and RSO Muslim armed groups are threatening the lives and belongings of civilians along the Maungdaw border, civilians living within the border are also fleeing. The AA also warns that people should not travel alone in the mountains and that if they have other urgent matters, including health issues, the people should inform the AA administration and security forces before traveling.

ARSA and RSO Muslim armed groups, which have received weapons and ammunition from the military junta are recruiting and training new members in refugee camps in Bangladesh, and are sneaking into Rakhine State to attack the AA and non-Muslim civilians.
