Hsipaw has also been seized, and some have fled

The military junta has begun seizing the homes and belongings of those associated with the revolution in Kyaukme and Hsipaw.

In September and the third week of October, the military junta launched into Kyaukme and Hsipaw in northern Shan State, which are controlled by the TNLA.

Following the military incursions, the military junta has begun seizing the homes and belongings of political activists and those close to the revolutionary forces in Kyaukme since last week.

A local source told BBM that he military junta seized the homes and belongings of those who are actually close to the revolutionary forces, as well as the homes of some civilians who are not politically connected due to complaints from military junta supporters.

“The arrests started last week, and they forced to close tea shops and to seize houses. The people were arrested, those who have joined the TNLA, those who have been close to it, those who have been famous for politics, and those who have complaints of hate crimes.”

In addition, the military junta has also started arresting some people with politics in recent days, and some politicians, including Ko Hla Moe in Kyaukme, who contested the 2015 election as a representative of the NLD, have been arrested, the source added.

“In Kyaukme, Ko Hla Moe, who contested the 2015 election for the NLD, was arrested, and his home was seized.
There are other people who have been arrested, but Ko Hla Moe has been confirmed, while the rest are still under investigation.”

Not only that, but similar arrests have also been made in Hsipaw, which was recaptured by the military junta in the third week of October.

As many houses in Hsipaw are being seized and many people in there were arrested, so some people associated with the revolution and politicians in the city are fleeing to safe places.

“Hsipaw has also started. I heard that around 50 houses are being seized. There are also reports of arrests, but there are still very few arrests. The reason why there are so few arrests in Hsipaw is because the people are moving in advance after Naung Cho and Kyaukme happened like that.”

When the military junta recaptured Naung Cho last July, it seized more than ten houses on the grounds that they were linked to the revolution, and some people who had returned from the war were arrested.
