The military junta ordered private hospitals not to employ CDM medical staff, and if they want to return to non-CDM, they must pay 30 lakhs (kyats) in compensation and a loan for 2 month from the previous government, and their medical licenses will be reinstated after one year, a CDM doctor told BBM.

The military junta has also ordered private hospitals not to employ CDM medical staff, and if CDM medical staff want to return to non-CDM, they must pay 30 lakhs (kyats) in compensation, saying that they failed to provide medical care to the country.

In addition, the 2 months’ salary paid in advance during the Aung San Suu Kyi government must also be paid along with the compensation, and the medical license will be reinstated only after a year.

“Those who have completed MSc are paid 30 lakhs kyats in compensation. During the reign of Aung San Suu Kyi, if you pay 5 lakhs kyats,in advance for two months, your medical license will be reinstate after waiting a year,” a CDM doctor, who did not want to be named, told BBM.

If CDM is on the Black List, she or he will have to pay a fine starting from tens of thousands of kyats to be removed from the Black List.

“As far as I know, there is no one who has defect to military junta. They are just resisting on to what they have earned. They have no intention of paying back. They will not be blacklisted. They will continue on the path they started no matter what,” the CDM doctor added.

The NUG has announced that they do not need to repay the two months’ salary that was given as a loan during the National League for Democracy (NLD) government, but the military junta is demanding it from all the employees.

CDM doctors are not being allowed to open or operate clinics officially, the military junta is also making it more difficult for CDM doctors to live and work, and because of this announcement.

Previously, under U Thein Sein – a military government, doctors were issued medical licenses upon graduation, but after the military coup, the military junta restricted medical licenses to three years of service to the state.
