Six local residents, including 2 children, were injured as military junta troops fired artillery on Thaywe village in Pauk Taw township, Rakhine State, which is under AA control.

Yesterday, November 11, at least 10 artillery shells were fired from Sittwe-based military junta battalions towards Pauk Taw township in the afternoon.

Four of the artillery shells fired by the military junta exploded, one near the intersection of Thaywe village in Pauk Taw township and three near Kyauk Seik village, injuring 6 local residents, including 2 children, from Thaywe village.

“Some Pauktaw residents are fleeing due to heavy artillery fire from the Sittwe based military junta battalions. Yesterday, heavy artillery fire was intense in the Pauk Taw direction. Six people, including two children, were injured in Thaywe village,” a Pauktaw resident told BBM.

The injured are Mg Htun Min Soe (B) Than Thar Chay (3 years old), Mg Shwe Toe (2 years old), Ko Kyaw Kyaw Lin (18 years old), Ma Shwe Win (23 years old), Daw Hla Kyawt Nu (60 years old) from Min Bar Village, Pauk Taw Township, and U Kyaw Hla Sein (58 years old) from Ward No. (1) of Pauktaw Township.

The injured have been taken to the relevant organizations for emergency medical treatment.

On October 29, a child was killed and two others were injured in Taung Nyo village, Pauk Taw Township, when heavy weapons were fired by the military junta battalions in Sittwe.
