In southern Kalay, Sagaing Region, fierce battle is taking place between the military junta’s 77th and 88th light infantry divisions and local revolutionary forces, with casualties on the military junta’s side, a local source told BBM.

The military junta previously controlled only the villages of Thazi, Zin Kalin, Thayar Waddy, and the GTC school near Htomar village in southern Kalay, and they were also stationed inside the school.

“Previously, the military junta was in control of only the villages of Thazi, Zin Kalin, Thayar Waddy, and these four villages. There is a GTC school in Htomar village. The military junta has been occupying the school for a long time, and the GTC school is theirs,” the source said.

Starting from the last week of October, the military junta has moved beyond the GTC school near Htomar village where they are stationed and have entered the villages of Thayar Kone, Htauk Kyant, Kyar Inn, and Sithar, and has set up a gate in Sithar village.

“Now, we hear that they are in the villages of Tharyar Kone, Htaul Kyant, Kyar In, and Sithar beyond the GTC. They have set up a gate in Sitha,” the source added.

Yesterday, on the night of November 13, the revolutionary forces attacked Sithar village and took control of it.

Almost all villages in the northern and southern parts of Kalay are fleeing the battle due to the military junta’s military incursions.

“Almost the entire township is being displaced. In the northern part of Kalay, the people of Sawbwa Yay Shin, Yan Myo Aung, Zo Lin, 55 Mile Village, 56 Mile Village, Kyan Set Kone, Khon Thar (East), Khon Tha (West), Kyet Phanet, Kan Oo, Kan Thar, Kan Hla, Kan Gyi, Yarzagyo Ghol, Kan Tharyar, Sone Lar Myaing, and Nan Saung Pu are being displaced. In the south of Kalay area, all the villages are being displaced,” the source added.

In addition, the military junta is currently gradually increasing its military forces in the areas where the battle is currently taking place south of Kalay, which could lead to more intense battle.

The military junta is trying to control the Kalay-Gangaw road, but it is currently unable to control Gangaw.

On the night of November 9, CDF-CDM-Sirin forces attacked a military junta column advancing from Tedim near
Taingen village, killing up to 20 members of the military junta.
