The military junta has bombed Barthlay village in Rathedaung Township, Rakhine State, which is controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), killing two civilians and injuring four others, according to local residents.

Today, November 15, at around 10 am, the military junta bombed two 500-pound bombs with a jet fighter on Bartalay village in Rathedaung Township.

“A jet fighter arrived at around 10am. Two civilians were killed and four were injured. The injured have been taken for medical treatment,” a Rathedaung resident said.

The military junta has been carrying out air strikes on townships in Rakhine State since a cease-fire with the TNLA, a Ta’ang National Liberation Army in northern Shan State.

From October 29 to 31, the military junta bombed the AA-controlled Rathedaung, Ponnagyun, and Pauk Taw townships in Rakhine State for three days with airstrikes, artillery, and drones.

During the three-day bombing campaign by the military junta against these townships, 12 civilians were killed and 32 were injured.

Similarly, from November 7 to 11, 17 civilians were killed and 27 were injured in the artillery and airstrikes on Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Minbya, and Pauk Taw townships.

The military junta, which is facing losses on the Rakhine front, is also bombing civilian areas, hospitals, clinics, schools, and religious buildings with airstrikes, naval troops, airstrikes, and drones.
