The military junta is reinforcing their troops in Falam Township with military vehicles from Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, along the Kalay-Taingen road on January 20, with around 200 troops.
“The junta arrived in Tainge village with five 12-wheeled vehicles and three armored vehicles on January 20. They are sending reinforcements towards Falam town through Taingen village,” a Chinland Council (CC) military source told BBM.
The military junta troops, who have arrived in Taingen village, have begun advancing towards Falam township along Taingen-Falam road.
“Military junta columns are penetrating with vehicles and on foot advancing towards Falam. There is no clash with the military junta column at the moment. The military junta column has not yet reached towards their troops in Falam township, but is still on the road,” a Chinland Council (CC) military source told BBM.
In Falam township, the military junta and the Chin revolutionary forces are engaged in fierce clashes every day, and the military junta is currently redeploying troops, which could lead to more intense clashes.
“The current strength is around 200 soldiers, so if the military vehicles arrive, they will probably bring weapons and ammunition, as well as victuals, so I think the fighting will be more intense,” a Chinland Council (CC) military source told BBM.
Since October 2025, the military junta has been conducting an offensive in two military lines from Kalay township along Kalay-Webula-Falam road and Kalay-Taingen-Falam road to retake Falam town.
Although the junta column has not yet reached Falam town for more than 3 months, it is present in the villages of Khuangli and Somyan near Falam town, and is engaged in fierce daily clashes with the Chin Revolutionary Coalition forces.
