A monk was injured and houses were destroyed in military junta airstrike on a village in Mindat Township, Circuit (1), Chin State, according to local residents.

The military junta launched two 500-pound bombs, rockets and small arms at the village, where there are civilians, at around 2:30 p.m. on February 2, without any fighting.

“Military junta bombed on the village by a jet fighter three times. The bombs fell on the monastery grounds and the main road, and some did not explode,” a resident of Mindat Township told BBM.

The military junta launched three airstrikes on the village from around 2:30 p.m.

The bomb exploded in the monastery compound, injuring a monk, completely destroying a house, and slightly damaging other houses.

“A monk in the village suffered a leg injury, but it will not cause death. One house was completely destroyed, and other houses and roads were also damaged,” a resident of Mindat Township told BBM.

Some of the 250-pound bombs dropped by the military junta remain unexploded, posing a threat to local residents.

Locals residents are currently fleeing to the mountains, fearing further airstrikes by the military junta.
