An 80-year-old woman was killed and some houses were damaged when the military council dropped bombs by paramotors in Kangyi village, Salin Township, Magway Division, a local resident told BBM.
On February 8, at around 11:00 a.m., the Salin-based military council (Defence industry 22) dropped three bombs on Kangyi village in Salin Township without any fighting.
“There was nothing military tension in the village, and in a normal situation, the military council troops dropped three bombs on the village indiscriminately. All the bombs fell directly inside the village,” a local resident told BBM.
The bombing killed an 80-year-old woman on the spot, and seriously injured a 70-year-old woman and a 40-year-old woman.
In addition, three cows in the village were killed and some houses were destroyed.
In recent days, other villages in Salin Township have also been hit by airstrikes and artillery fire from the military council camp.
On February 6, the military council stationed in Sizwe village fired heavy artillery, which hit and burned a house in Than Kone village, Nyaung township.
Similarly, on February 4, the 253rd Battalion fired the villages by a howitzer , which hit and exploded in a cornfield near the school in Htanaung Kone village.
The explosion was so severe that it left a crater about 30 feet depth in the ground.
