At least 10 civilians were killed and many others were injured when military council troops bombed the market in Chetkan village, Magway Division, a local told BBM.

The attack on Chetkan village, Pauk Township, began at around 11:00 a.m. on February 10, with paramotors, by three jet fighters, bombs, rockets, and machine guns.

“First, they started firing with paramotors, then three jet fighters fired, and then the jet fighters, bombs, rockets, and machine guns opened fire,” a local resident told BBM.

Locals said that the airstrikes were carried out in stages, with the military council apparently intending to inflict more casualties on civilians.

“The attacks were carried out in stages, with the bombs being dropped directly on the market where civilians were shopping. It was intentional, and there were many casualties,” a Pauk resident told BBM.

The attacks killed 10 civilians, seriously injured at least six, and damaged the market.

In addition, some of the people who came to Chetkan village from nearby villages are still missing after the attack, raising concerns that the death toll could be higher.

The military defence industry (24) in Pauk Township also frequently fires heavy weapons at nearby villages, and is carrying out reconnaissance and firing by using gyrocopters and paramotors.
