🟥 Military Junta’s forces use thousands of ground troops and advanced drones during Naung Cho battle

The military junta is using thousands of ground troops during the battle for Naung Cho town in northern Shan State, and military junta’s troops are now entering Naung Cho town, according to local military sources.

The military’s junta has been attacking Naung Cho town, which it has lost since 2024, with two main lines from Taung Kham village and Pyin Oo Lwin township, and has been using ground drones and heavy weapons extensively.

On the evening of July 13, 2025 (yesterday), military junta’s troops coming to Naung Cho through Taung Kham entered Naung Cho town.

 “The initial columns have already crossed the center of Naung Cho town, and have already crossed the Kyaukme exit and the Asia World gate,”

a local military source told BBM. In addition, the columns coming from Pyin Oo Lwin have also crossed the 114th Infantry Battalion at the entrance to Naung Cho town and have even taken over the entire Kyauk Kyan village.

The military junta’s column coming from Pyin Oo Lwin township and the main column coming from Taung Kham village were divided into smaller columns before reaching Naung Cho town and attacked Naung Cho town in a frontal formation.

In addition, these columns are marching with heavy artillery and air support, and advanced reconnaissance drones have been used in the fighting.

 “We can say that the junta’s reconnaissance drones have become quite advanced. Not long after the reconnaissance drones were deployed, the attack drones and heavy weapons arrived in droves,”

the military source continued.  In addition, a junta’s column that split from the main Taung Kham column has also divided into two lines and is marching towards Goke Hteik village through Nar Mon village and is working to block the Kyaukme and Naung Cho roads. 

The Naung Cho offensive is being led by Lieutenant Colonel Naing Naing Oo of the Military juntas No. 2 Special Operations Group and is being attacked with the majority of troops from Division (11), Division (55) and Military Operations Command (12). 

After capturing Ummathi village, the offensive is said to have been divided into two lines and entered Hsam Hsai village and Naung Cho town on the Mogok road.
