MNDAA prepares to build new hospital in Theinni(Hsenwi)

Locals say that the MNDAA is preparing to build a new hospital on the site of the old market in Theinni, northern Shan State.

“The new market will be rebuilt. I heard that the hospital will be rebuilt. I heard that the new hospital will be built on the site of the old market. The project for the new hospital has been drawn up. They are starting the project for the new market,”

said a local source. The current new market is temporarily located on the Namsalat road, on the exit side of the city.

He said that many plots of land near Mine Li(Mongli), around Theinni, and near lotus ponds of the city’s entrance to the city are being cleared for construction of large buildings.

“Theinni Hospital will be built on the old market in Theinni. It will be built. There will be a car parking in the middle, and the hospital around it,”

said a local woman. Locals said that there are many other projects currently underway in Theinni Township. They are also seeing preparations for the construction of infrastructure.

The old Myoma Market in Theinni was bombed and destroyed by the military junta on July 18, 2024.

The city of Theinni was captured and controlled by a joint force with the MNDAA in January 2024.
