The recent battles between the Arakan Army and Military Junta have been a hot topic of discussion, and have been closely watched by both the revolutionary people and the military junta supporters. This is because from 2023 to 2025, the revolutionary forces have carried out offensive operations across Myanmar, capturing cities and camps, as well as beating Brigadier Generals and Generals of the military junta, and taking them as prisoners.

To be honest, in our entire generation, as well as in all the generations that before us, we have never heard of the revolutionary forces capturing military junta generals alive, beating them, and capturing cities one after another. Therefore, the defeat of the authoritarian Military Junta, which had been witnessed and heard continuously since 1027, was welcomed with great joy by the entire revolutionary people, and the revolutionary forces were also welcomed with great enthusiasm.

These successes in Shan State resulted in the liberation of almost all of northern Shan State, and the Karenni, Chin, Kayin, and Upper Myanmar regions gained significant territorial control. In addition, in western Rakhine State, except for Kyaukphyu, Sittwe, and Manaung (3), the Arakan Army was able to capture and demonstrate its power.

However, the military junta responded to these successes of the revolutionary forces by using various methods, including political methods , unity methods, and divisive methods. Therefore, the military junta has been able to successfully repel the offensives of the revolutionary forces, and recently, the military junta has been able to recapture the cities they had lost since early 2025.

While there were concerns among the revolutionary forces and the public about the military junta’s renewed strength, the military junta’s propaganda has also consistently carried out propaganda with the aim of claiming that the military junta has regained control of the entire country and that the revolution has been defeated. However, the statements issued by the Arakan Army these days, as well as the fierce battle between the Arakan Army and the military junta in Magway Region and Bago Region, are proof that this propaganda is not true.

First, I would like to say a little about the statement issued by the Arakan Army on the 10th October. The statement claimed that the Arakan Army and the Military Junta are engaged in fierce battle not only in Sittwe and Kyaukphyu in Rakhine State, but also in Magway Region, Bago Region, and Ayeyarwady Region. The public has been informed of the fierce battle and urged them to be aware of the military junta’s atrocities.

In line with this statement, the battle currently being led by the Arakan Army is also intense, and is taking place not only in the areas of Kyaukphyu and Sittwe, where there are remaining projects to occupy Rakhine State, but also in the Bago Region and Magway Region on the other side of the Rakhine Yoma, and in the Ayeyarwady Region, where the military junta is strong. Regarding the Arakan Army’s expansion of its front, even military observers themselves are wondering whether it is possible in the long term. Although there were questions about whether they could weaken from a strong position, they also showed that they were gaining an advantage on every open front due to their good connections and understanding with local revolutionary forces.

First, I would like to talk about the fierce battle between the Arakan Army and the Military Junta in Magway Region, which has been widely reported this week. The Nat Yae Kan camp is one of the most important defensive bases of the Military Junta to prevent the infiltration of revolutionary forces into Magway Region through Rakhine. Therefore, the camp has not only air defenses, but also a large number of artillery, medical and combat troops, and has spread its forces to nearby controlled hills and areas to try to prevent the Arakan Army from attacking Magway Region.

As far as I know, the strategic commander and team of the 17th Infantry Division are supervising the camp, as well as a large number of artillery and heavy weapons. However, according to the latest information, all the important defensive bases in the camp have been occupied by the revolutionary forces, and the main Nat Yae Kan camp has been surrounded and blocked. If the Natwan strategic base is also captured, the nearby the No.14 Defense Industry will automatically become a frontline battlefield.

In addition, in the joint offensive by the Arakan Army and allied forces from Bago Region, the revolutionary forces have already reached Sinlan village near the No. 6 Defense Equipment Industry (Ka.Pa.Sa 6) in Oke Shit Pin Township, and it is known that at least 30 military junta soldiers were killed in the battle in that village.

Not only that, there are ongoing battles between the Military Junta and the Arakan Army along the Rakhine Yoma border in Ayeyarwady Region, including Ye Kyi, Thar Paung, Ngathaing Chaung, LaymyetHna, Angapu and Myan Aung Townships, and the Arakan Army is expanding its territory.

So, these situations are based on the current situation and military strategies on the underground, and just looking at this military situation and these data, it can be seen that the statements of the military junta lobbyists who are deliberately spreading the idea that the military junta has a complete advantage are wrong. No matter how much the military junta claims that they have won and that they can also stand in Rakhine, according to the underground data, it is clear that the Arakan Army’s offensive can now threaten Magway Region, Bago Region, and Ayeyarwady Region.
