Last day, a revolutionary civilian asked me whether the photos and video files showing the people happily welcoming the military junta’s troops after the military junta captured Kyaukme town were real. I have seen and experienced the video files and photos he showed because they were constantly uploaded by the military junta propaganda channels throughout the military junta’s offensive in Naung Cho, Kyaukme, and Hsipaw.

Concerning facts for these photos and video files, I have investigated not only the revolutionary forces closest to the underground but also the people as much as I can, and I have found that these are actually what is happening on the underground. In my opinion, we should seriously think about this is just a propaganda by the military junta to create a perception that the people support them, than why this is happening and what needs to be prepared and what lessons need to be learned.

In the recent offensive against northern Shan, where they have been taken, the military junta has not only used military and political methods, but also taken advantage of the small conflicts that have occurred between the local people and the revolutionary forces, and used methods to unite the people. As we all know, in the first and second waves of the 1027 Operation, northern Shan was in a relatively good military situation, and almost all of northern Shan was liberated from the military junta.

However, what we need to consider here is that the SSPP, the main armed group of the Shan people in northern Shan State, didn’t involve any roles in the battles that almost completely liberated northern Shan from the military junta. Therefore, the revolutionary groups that fought to prevent the northern Shan areas liberated from the military junta from becoming lack of administrative groups during the battle, entered the administrative sectors.

Especially in the areas below Lashio, where almost all of the northern Shan areas were liberated, the revolutionary forces took over the administration that’s a replacement for TNLA. Thus, we saw various kinds of friction and conflicts between the local people and the revolutionary forces in charge of administration. Although I do not want to say who is right and who is wrong about these frictions at this time, I can say that the military junta has definitely made a capital for small conflicts between the locals and the people in the northern Shan offensive.

Because the people who are constantly supporting the military junta’s propaganda regarding northern Shan, such as Kyaw Soe Oo and Kyaw Myo Min, have often exaggerated the conflict between the people and the revolutionary forces mentioned above. In some villages on the underground, the military junta has reported to the northern Shan locals in various ways not to accept the TNLA, not to be afraid if the military junta enters, and that the military junta will not bomb unless there are insurgents.

In fact, in battles like Naung Cho, Kyaukme and Hsipaw, some locals even forced the revolutionary forces to withdraw from their villages, refused to allow them to base themselves in their villages, and even greeted the last military junta lines with flowers. As mentioned above, the military junta took advantage of the friction between the locals and the revolutionary forces, and for the military junta, which was too weak in terms of manpower and weapons, this advantage from the people was enough to change the situation of the revolution.

So, just as the military junta took advantage of the small conflicts between the local people and the revolutionary forces like in Northern Shan, we have seen similar patterns on other. In some areas, such as Letpan Chaung in Chin State, the military junta group is quaintly organising the people. This is a terrifying preparation, similar to how the military junta has upgraded its drones in recent years. For this reason, it is very important for the revolutionary forces to prepare what needs to be prepared and to fix what needs to be fixed.

Finally, I think it is time to consider the people’s war-weary and war-exaustion feelings. Because the people have been waiting for 5 years, despite the words that the revolution will be over in a year, in two years. In these 5 years, they have been airdropped many times, and they have had to try not to die in the war many times, and we have also lived with our families separated for many years. I am sure that we will get tired of these situations. Therefore, I would like to once again urge organizations and individuals who are on the side of the revolution to negotiate and cooperate in order to prevent the revolution from taking longer.
