After being fired upon, Mi-35 and Y-12 aircraft searched for the revolutionary forces, but they were able to successfully retreat
The central military command headquarters (La.Pa.Kha.) in the Mandalay Palace, where the coup leader Min Aung Hlaing is staying, was fired with two short-range-roctet, according to a statement by Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).
At around 6:00 AM on October 4, 2025, the central regional command headquarters((La.Pa.Kha.), where Min Aung Hlaing is temporarily staying, was attacked with the help of local revolutionary allied forces.
Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Mandalay via Pyin Oo Lwin on the night of the 3rd to attend the 100th anniversary of Mandalay University, and the shooting was carried out after receiving accurate information that he would be staying at the VIP guest house near the southern gate of the Mandalay central regional command headquarters, a BWM official told BBM.
“Yesterday evening, Ma Ah La( Min Aung Hlaing) arrived from Pyin Oo Lwin and planned to spend the night at the palace. We knew that he would be staying at the VIP guest house at the southern gate that night, so we shot him there early in the morning,”
a BWM official told BBM. In addition, it was easier to attack Min Aung Hlaing during the 100th anniversary ceremony than to attack the Mandalay palace headquarters, but he added that the attack was carried out in the morning because he was worried that the people attending would be injured as they were dancing and acting as human shields.
“We had the opportunity to shoot during the ceremony, but because there were so many people, we decided not to shoot again. In fact, we knew that the precise location would be more effective during the ceremony, but because there were so many people dancing, we didn’t shoot anymore,”
the BWM official added. The BWM team also confirmed that they clearly heard the sounds of shock rockets fired by the revolutionary forces during the shooting, the sound of landing, and the sound of explosions.
In addition, after the shooting, a Mi-35 helicopter flew over the Regional Command of the Military junta (La.Pa.Kha.) and a Y-12 aircraft flew over to search for the revolutionary forces, but they were successfully withdrawn, the BWM official added.
“Immediately after the launch, they heard the sound of a short-range rocket, and soon the Mi 35 came up and started searching for it. Then the Y12 came up, and now the comrades are safe,”
he added. The BWM group also told BBM that the purpose of carrying out such attacks is to make the military junta leaders feel the same way as the people feel insecure due to the military dictatorship.
In addition, although the attack was carried out within a few hours, it could have affected the military junta members because it exploded during the central regional command headquarters. The attack was carried out in collaboration with the No More Dictatorship People’s Defense Force (NMD-PDF) group, the People Servant Force (P.S.F) and the Yadanarbon Front, led by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) group.
