A civilian woman was killed and 4 others were injured in heavy weapon fire from the military junta’s Ma Au Gate camp in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, according to the Monywa Township True News Information Team.
On September 17, at around 5:30 p.m., military junta troops on duty at Ma Au Gate fired four rounds of heavy weapons into Nagadwin Village, where civilians lived, without any fighting.
The said firing by the military junta made four women and one man injured in Nagadwin Village, and one of the four injured women died this morning, an official from the Monywa Township True News Information Team told BBM.
“There were four women and one man injured by the heavy weapons. The woman who died has been worried since the first attack. She died this morning. She was shopping while she was attacked,”
an official from the Monywa Township True News Information Team told BBM. The Ma Au Gate, where the heavy weapons are being indiscriminately fired, is a military junta camp near Ma Au, the entrance to Monywa town in Chaung U Township. The camp has howitzers and often fires heavy weapons at people’s homes, he added.
“The Ma Au Gate is located at the exit of Monywa town, and there are also heavy weapons there, and they often fire like this,”
he added. The military junta has also been known to frequently fire heavy weapons in Monywa town, Sagaing Region, and to abduct young people in the town.
