🟥Hundreds of military junta soldiers have been killed
A source close to the AA military source in Ayeyarwady Region said that hundreds of military junta soldiers have been killed in clashes between the military junta and the Arakan Army (AA) and People’s Defense Forces(PDF) in Lay Myet Hna Township, Ayeyarwady Region.
On July 22, the villages of Pan Taw Gyi, Magyi Kone, Kyauk Sayit Kone, Nyaung Kone, Magyi Pin Kwin,and Kyar Kite Kwin in Lay Myet Hna Township, located on the Pathein-Monywa road, were occupied and controlled by the Arakan Army (AA) and People’s Defense Forces (PDF), and the military junta launched a military offensive to regain those areas, resulting in clashes.
On July 23, the AA and the People’s Defense Forces intercepted a military junta column of over 100 soldiers of the 66th Battalion near Let Tan Nge village, killing hundreds of military soldiers, according to a source close to the AA military source.
“The AA and PDF were attacking the military junta column since the 22nd of this month to take control of the Pathein-Monywa road. On the 23rd, they fired about nine shots at the marching military column and drove it to their firing range. When the marching military column entered their firing range, the AA and PDF surrounded and attacked, killing more than 80,”
said a source close to the AA military source. Similarly, in recent days, the military junta columns have been continuously attacking along the Pathein-Monywa road, so fighting is still intense, the source added.
“We heard that there was fighting today too. The fighting is intense when the military junta march. It is intense every 3 or 4 days,”
the AA military source added. The military junta said that on July 16, in order to counter the offensive by the Arakan Army (AA) and the allied People’s Defence Force(PDF) in Ayeyarwady Region, the Southwestern Regional Command (Na Ta Ka) and the Pathein Naval Headquarters (No.26) deployed tanks and military equipment, and three warships along the Ngawun River to reinforce the military forces in Lay Myet Hna Township.
