Three 3 people, including a 5-year-old child, were killed and 13 others injured in the indiscriminate shelling from the Hpakant Sanctuary Strategy, Kachin State.

On August 3, intense fighting broke out between the military junta and the revolutionary forces near Nyaungpin Kone camp in Hpakant, and the indiscriminate shelling was carried out from the Hpakant Sanctuary Strategy by the military junta.

The indiscriminate shelling of the military junta fell on the nearby villages of Sharaw Kha, Myauk Phyu, and San Kywe, killing a 5-year-old child, a 21-year-old youth, and a 35-year-old man.

“Nyaungpin Kone is on the road to San Kywe and Sharaw Kha, not far from Sanctuary Strategy, so the artillery shells fired from Sanctuary Strategy hit San Kywe, Sharaw Kha jade site, and Myauk Phyu, killing three people, including a three-year-old child,”

a local resident told BBM. The death toll includes a 21-year-old youth from Sharaw Kha village who was killed by artillery fire last night, while a 5-year-old child and a 35-year-old man from Myauk Phyu village were killed by the military junta’s artillery this morning.

In addition, four people from San Kywe village, two people from Sharaw Kha village, and seven people from Myauk Phyu village were injured in the artillery fire, the local resident added.

“In addition, there are still people injured in San Kywe, Sharaw Kha, and Myauk Phyu due to heavy weapons. About 10 people were injured in the past 2 days.”

The military junta attacked and captured the Nyaungpin Kone camp where the revolutionary forces were stationed just a few days ago, and this time the revolutionary forces are attacking back.

In addition, the Nyaungpin Kone camp, located at the entrance to Sharaw Kha village, is an important camp because it is located in the shape of a hill facing the Hpakant Sanctuary Strategies where the military junta’s heavy weapons are located, according to local sources.
