After capturing Naung Cho town in northern Shan State, the military junta’s launched three troops to attack on Hokho village in Naung Cho township, accoording to local military sources.
It is reported that after the military recaptured Naung Cho town, which they had lost during Operation 1027, on July 16, 2025,it has intensified that the militarily junta attacked militarily important Hokho village on the Mogok road.
The military junta was attacking Hokho village in three separate lines: Thonese village, Thanbo village, and Thapyay Doe route. They were also reportedly deploying heavy weapons in villages they have captured along the way and are firing indiscriminately towards
Hokho village.
“They are attacking in three (3) lines, one from Thanbo towards Hokho village, one from Thapyay Doe village in the middle, one from Thonese village to the main road. If the military junta comes from Pyin Oo Lwin, they have already crossed Thanbo, and if they come from Thonese, they have already captured Hokhe,”
a local military source told BBM. Hohko village is located on Pyin Oo Lwin-Mogok road, and is only 50 miles away from Mogok town in Mandalay Region, which is occupied by the revolutionary forces.
In addition, through Hokho village, they can reach not only Mogok town, but also the towns of Singu, Madaya, and it is important militarily because it opens up to Kyaukme and Momeik townships,
according to the military source.
“If you continue from Hokho village, you will reach Madaya, Singu, and Thabeikkyin.If you go straight ahead, you will reach Mogok and the right.If you go from Mong Lon, you will branch off from Mong Lon and reach Kyaukme and Momeik. If you only go to Hokho, you will have access to almost all the towns that were captured in 1027,”
the military source added. The military junta has deployed heavy weapons in Thonese village, which is currently on the road to Hokho village, and is firing at Hokho village, and is also using drones to attack.
