The military junta launched a military offensive against Hokho Village on the Pyin Oo Lwin-Mogok Road in Naung Cho Township, northern Shan State, and now the revolutionary forces have conceded Hohko village.

Hokho village in Naung Cho Township is only 50 miles from Mogok Town, which is controlled by the TNLA and other revolutionary forces, and is connected to Kyaukme, Madaya, Singu, and Thabeikkyin in northern Shan State.

The military junta launched an offensive against Hokho Village in three military lines, starting from Thonese Village, Thanbo village, and Thapyay Doe Village.

In addition, Hokho village is divided into two parts, the southern village and the northern village, and the commission troops the military junta have now occupied the entire southern village of Hokho and are also raiding northern Hokho village, a local military source told BBM.

“We can say that Hokho has already passed Naung Cho-Mogok and Pyin Oo Lwin-Mogok junctions. Once we cross the junctions, there are no defensive preparations except for the residential areas. And if Hokho is divided into the southern village and the northern village, it is believed that the entire southern village has now been cleared and the northern village is cleared,”

a local military source told BBM. In addition, the TNLA administration members who were stationed in Hokho village have also retreated to Kyaukme township in recent days.

Now that the military commission has captured Hokho village, only the Doe Pin village in Naung Cho township is left with revolutionary forces, while 35 village tracts in other townships, the military source added that the army has recaptured six wards and 250 villages.

“It is reported that the TNLA administration of Naung Cho, who are sitting in Hokho, have retreated to Kyaukme. In Naung Cho Township, only Doe Pin village remains for the army to retake,”

the local military said. The military junta’s retake of Hokho village on Mogok Road could make communication and supply routes more difficult for the revolutionary forces in Mandalay Region, according to military sources with expertise in the area.
