12 civilians were killed and 21 injured in a military junta attacked by airstrikes
on Daingkyi village , Mrauk-U Township, Aungtat Group, Rakhine State, according to local residents.
Yesterday, August 25, at 11:30 p.m., the military junta’s jet fighter dropped a 500-pound bomb on an agricultural warehouse in Daingkyi village ,Mrauk-U Township.
“A jet fighter dropped a 500-pound bomb on Daingkyi village, Mrauk-U Township yesterday at 11:30 p.m. We heard that many people were injured. It is reported that houses were also burned,”
a Mrauk-U resident told BBM. The wounded were taken to hospital for emergency treatment after the junta bombardment.
“The wounded are being treated. Yesterday, ambulances were unable to reach the field immediately, so we were unable to save the injured. About 6 people were killed in one house,” a local resident told BBM.
The military junta’s jet fighter reportedly remained in Mrauk-U for a few minutes after the 500-pound bomb was dropped.
