Four KPDF soldiers, including Naing Min Htet, from Hpakant Township, Kachin State, joined the military junta in the township, and the military junta is making further arrests in Hpakant township.

On August 27, four KPDF soldiers led by Naing Min Htet went to join the military junta in Hpakant military base.

The former KPDF soldier, Naing Min Htet, joined the military junta through Taung Kawt village, Hpakant Township after attending the KPDF 11-week training course in Pale Township.

In addition, the other three who accompanied him to join the military junta are from Taze and have previously been involved in UG, according to some local military sources.

β€œThese guys went to join the Hpakant strategic area with weapons on the 27th. Naing Min Htet is from the KPDF (11th) week, and they are training under the KIA. The three soldiers are said to be UG,”

a military source told BBM. On August 27, after the four KPDF comrades joined the military junta, the military junta tortured and interrogated them at the Hpakant strategic area.

Following the interrogation, the military junta further arrested a young man from the Mashikataung Ward in Hpakant Township and three young men from the Chan Myae Guest House in the Hmaw Wan Lay Ward, the source added.

“I heard that after these guys joined forces, they were arrested at the strategic hill with blood coming out of their ears. They were afraid to say that, and then subsequently arrested again, a young man from Mashikha Taung and three young men from Maw Wan Lay. The arrested were not PDF or support, but young men from this region,”

the military source told BBM. In addition, the military junta also conducted a strict inspection at the top of the Jade Mountain bridge between Hpakant and Mashikha Valley on August 29 (yesterday) and arrested 15 young men with handcuffs.

7 of the 15 young men arrested were released this morning, but the others are still being held.

“The (15) people ,arrested at the Jade Mountain Bridge, needed to arrest the tell-tales who are subsequently arrested. These people are also being dragged up, so they are talking about what is in their mouths fulling with frenetic words,”

the military source said. The military junta is still conducting more stringent arrests and interrogations in Hpakant Township, and the revolutionary forces have warned local residents to be careful.
