Revolutionary forces attacked a troop of over 100 junta soldiers heading towards Hpruso Township, Karenni State, killing over 10 junta soldiers and seizing 6 weapons.

On August 29, at around 10 am, the Southern Shan Force, Karenni Military Region Force, the No.11 Tactical Operation Command and allied revolutionary forces first attacked the military junta troops heading towards Hpruso from Ngwe Taung Village using drones.

At the beginning of the attack, at least 10 junta soldiers were injured and killed, and then the revolutionary forces launched a ground attack.

“On the 29th, we led the No.11 Tactical Operation Command to attack the 100-strong junta column who were advancing towards the town of Hpruso. We had a lot of casualties from the drone attack, and there were more than 10 casualties on the ground,”

a comrade from the No.11 Tactical Operation Command told BBM. The beaten military junta retreated after about 5 hours of fighting, but some of the bodies of its soldiers and some ammunition were left behind.

While the revolutionary forces were clearing the area, the military junta attacked again with drones, so it was not possible to record all the bodies of the military junta, but they did recover 7 bodies and 6 guns, the comrade added.

“The weapon was 6 guns. Only 7 bodies were found. I think some of the bodies were dragged back. While we were clearing the area, the dog team fired back with a drone, so I couldn’t take any photos,”

the comrade told BBM. There have been fierce daily clashes between the military junta forces and the revolutionary forces advancing towards Dimoso Township, and clashes also took place on August 25 and 28, resulting in casualties on the military side.
