At around 4 am on September 6, the military junta’s military columns entered the Ma Mone-Phar Pyin Village and Hmaw Taung-Sankywe Village in Hpakant Township.

The military junta’s military columns and the revolutionary forces engaged in fierce clashes in Sankye Village since the early morning of September 6.

“The attack started at 4am. At first, the military junta side lost three men in the front line, but they were not able to recover dead bodies until noon,”

a local military source told BBM. During the morning attack, three members of the military junta were killed and the fighting was so intense that the military was unable to recover the bodies, and the revolutionary forces were unable to collect their weapons due to military drones.

by artillery and drones, the source added.

the source added. In the evening after the fighting, the military junta tried to collect the dead bodies of the soldiers using drones, but the KIA and the revolutionary forces attacked the military junta soldiers who were collecting the bodies again, causing many casualties.

“They came again in the evening using drones to pick up the bodies. They came in groups, and when the revolutionary forces side fired, so them were hit in groups. By the end of the day, about 20 people on military junta side had died, “

the military source told BBM. During the fighting, the military junta’s heavy artillery fire killed a monk from the Masoyein Monastery in San Kywe village, and injured four people, including a seven-year-old child.

Regarding the number of casualties during the fighting, a local resident confirmed to BBM,”It was mainly due to the heavy weapons fired from the Hpakant strategic hill,”

Since the military junta columns entered Hpakant Township, the entire township has been in a state of intense fighting and military tension, and local residents are saying that the number of displaced people is likely to increase.
