6 People, Including a Lieutenant Colonel, were killed, 11 people arrested, and weapons were seized

The Joint Revolutionary Forces attacked the Zigon Police Station in Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region, killing 6 people, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a policeman, and capturing 11 people. They also seized 9 G3 rifles, 1 G4 rifle, 1 MA15 rifle, and 1 pistol, the Duwun People’s Defense Organization’s Ye-U officer told BBM.

On September 17, at around 3 p.m., the Joint Revolutionary Forces attacked the Zigon Police Station, killing 6 officers, and 2 Lieutenant Colonels, 2 policemen, 2 wives of the soldiers, 2 children, and 3 prisoners.

In addition, 9 G3 rifles, 1 G4 rifle, 1 MA15 rifle, 1 pistol were seized.

“At around 3 pm on the 17th September, our joint revolutionary forces attacked the camp. All of 6, including the members of the military junta and lieutenant colonels,were killed. All 11 prisoners, including their wives and children, were captured. We seized about 13 weapons,”

a member of the Duwun Ye-U People’s Defense Force told BBM. The attack lasted only a few minutes and the revolutionary forces were able to retreat without any casualties.

The attack was led by the Kantbalu District People’s Defense Force and was carried out jointly by Ye-U Duwun People’s Defense Force and the local People’s Defense Force.
