The People’s Defense Forces have been attacking Bamauk since September 15, and by September 18, they had captured outposts around the city and were able to advance into the city’s inner districts.
The military junta is defending Bamauk in collaboration with the local Shan Ni Army, the SNA, but the revolutionary forces have captured more than 90% of the outposts set up around the city.
“Today, the sound of gunfire has reached the outskirts of the city. The military junta has blocked the entrances and exits of the city and is not allowing people to leave. All communications in the city are also cut off. Only one type of starlink is available,”
a Bamauk resident told BBM. The military junta has set up outposts in several strategically important areas around Bamauk.
However, the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) captured many of these camps on the same day they launched the offensive.
When asked about the current military situation, a frontline source said, “We are focusing on capturing the city. We have achieved better results than expected,” a frontline soldier told BBM.
The junta is also conducting airstrikes on the city and around Bamauk.
There have been civilian casualties in the airstrikes, and the details of the civilian casualties are not yet known due to communication difficulties.
So far, the fighting has resulted in many deaths for the junta and its subordinate Shan Ni Army (SNA), and there have also been casualties for the PDF.
The Katha District Command is leading to attack the military junta soldiers in Bamauk, and the revolutionary groups have also captured Pinlelbu and Indaw townships near Bamauk.
