The military junta troops have been conducting an offensive on Kyaukme town, and on September 24, they arrived at Nar Aik Hkant village, 8 miles from Kyaukme town.
The military junta troops arrived at Nar Aik Hkant village and shot and killed a monk who had been left behind to care for the ailing monk, and also destroyed houses in the village.
Local sources said that through this, military junta soldiers raped a 16-year-old girl who was hiding in a farm hut near the village and killed three members of her family.
“On the 24th, the TNLA withdrew from the village of Nar Aik Hkant due to the military junta’s offensive. The military junta’s column arrived at Nar Aik Hkant village. When they entered the village, they first shot and killed a monk. Then, they killed three members of a family who were hiding near the village. A 16-year-old girl from the family was raped and then killed by the military junta soldiers,”
a local resident in northern Shan told BBM. The military junta soldiers’ military uniforms and ammunition bags were left in the hut of the three members of the family who were killed, and the girl who died was found naked in the hut.
A Shan civil society organization, the Tai Students Union, also announced on September 25 that it would call on various countries and international organizations to take action against the military junta soldiers for shooting innocent civilians.
