Although supporters of the military junta and propagandists are claiming that Lay Kay Kaw town in Kayin State has been completely taken over, the military has not yet gained control on the ground and some of the military junta lines have stopped.

In the first week of October, photos taken by military junta members in front of a medical clinic in the new town of Lay Kay Kaw were shared on social media by military junta propaganda channels and supporters of the military junta, and there were claims that Lay Kay Kaw had been recaptured.

Regarding the photos, it is true that the military junta has taken control of those areas, but on the ground, there are claims that the military junta does not have full control of the entire town as they claim, and daily battles are intense.

“The pictures that have captured are true. It is true that the military junta has regained control of those areas, but it is not as if they have taken over the entire city as they say,” a revolutionary comrade on the ground told BBM.

In addition, the military dictatorship group has only been able to take photos of some areas in Lay Kay Kaw, including the medical center and Tae Kan Kone, for political maneuver, and has not been able to openly occupy the areas they have controlled, the revolutionary comrade added.

“I would say it is for political maneuver. They take photos in the areas they have, post them online, and encourage their people and supporters, but they do not dare to openly occupy those areas because they do not have control over them,” he added.

Currently, the military junta’s military lines are only based in the areas they have occupied, and they are unable to advance further, and are only conducting bombings from the air and drone strikes.

In addition, the current military situation in Lay Kay Kaw is in a state of partial control, and the military junta is burning down civilians’ houses near their troops.

“The current situation is in a state of partial control in the town. They don’t dare to march further. I think it’s a long-term plan by the military dictatorships. They are burning down houses near them. I think they want to portray that

The military junta is supporting the Lay Kay Kaw battle not only with aircraft and drones, but also with artillery from the BGF camp, 275th Battalion, and Let Khat Taung in Myawaddy, according to some Myawaddy locals.

In addition, during the daily clashes, some members of the military junta have also been seen defecting the revolutionary forces with weapons, according to confirmed statements from military sources on the ground.
