A clash between military junta members and revolutionary forces near Thone Mile junction in Bhamo, Kachin State, resulted in 2 military junta members killed and 2 weapons seized.

The military junta has been reinforcing its troops and weapons in Bhamo since August through Gaw Wain Port, and has shifted from a defensive position to an offensive mode and has been conducting more offensive operations against revolutionary forces.

On October 10, a fierce offensive broke out between the KIA members and the MM members near Aung Pin Lal KTV at Thone Mile junction in Bhamo.

During the battle, two military junta soldiers were killed and many others were injured.

The injured military junta retreated from the area near the Throne Mile junction, and the revolutionary forces recaptured one soldier’s body and two weapons during the clearing operation, a ground revolutionary source told BBM.

“The other day, at the Thone Mile junction and Aung Pin Lal KTV junction, there were two bodies of soldiers, one of whom was dragged away by military junta.An MA-1 and an MA-3 were also seized,” a ground revolutionary source told BBM.

In addition, the military junta is marching its military lines not only in the area around 3 mile away from Bhamo but also in other sides, so battle is intense everyday.

In addition, the KIA has also recaptured some of the outposts that were the KIA’s Brigade (11) and Brigade (3) on the Bhamo front, the source told BBM.

“There is battle almost everyday, On the Bhamo front, Brigade 11 and Brigade (3), the responsible side, the outposts are being recaptured, it’s right,” the source told BBM.

Bhamo is the second largest city in Kachin State and is an important logistics city as it is located on the main road connecting Myitkyina, the northern military region’s headquarters, as well as Mogaung and Mohnyin.

Therefore, the KIA-led revolutionary forces began an offensive Bhamo in December 2024,on the other side,the military junta is also reinforcing and defending the city with naval and air forces to prevent it .
