At least 6 military junta soldiers were killed and 2 weapons were seized when the 20-strong military junta convoy returning to provide supplies from Pakokku airfield in Magway Region was attacked by the revolutionary forces, according to an official from Southern YSO PDF.
On October 15, at around 1:30 p.m., the military junta convoy returning from Pakokku airfield to provide supplies from the Myauk Lukan village military junta camp in Pakokku Township was immediately prepared and attacked, according to the receiving the information.
During the shooting, six (6) members of the military junta were killed on the spot, but only two (2) weapons were seized due to heavy, small arms, and point 5 fire from the airfield, Southern YSO PDF leader Major Taik Maung told BBM.
“They were dogs (military junta soldiers) from the Myauk Lukan base camp.The airfield is located on the Pakokku-Yesagyo road, so they can get supplies through the airfield. We can wait and shoot in advance and quickly take cover when we get the news,” the commander continued.
After the attack by the revolutionary forces, the military junta members retreated to the Pakokku airfield. They arrived at the area of the incident in two (2) armored personnel carriers and three (3) vans to collect the bodies of the deceased millitary junta soldiers.
Following this, at around 2:00 PM today, the airfield and the Myauk Lukan village camp were reinforced with two armored vehicles from Pakokku town,
“The subsequent situation is that two armored vehicles and three motor vehicles arrived from Pakokku town to pick up the bodies and returned to Pakokku yesterday evening.At around 2:00 PM today, two armored vehicles arrived and reinforced the airfield and the Myauk Lukan village base camps,” the commander continued.
During the attack, a comrade from the revolutionary forces was injured by a bullet in the arm, but was able to successfully retreat.
