The militia leader Tin Moe and his wife from Mogaung township, Kachin State, are working together with the (3) military junta soldiers based in Mogaung town to collect bribes and extort money from the local people.

Not only in famous areas in Mogaung town, but also at the Mogaung Bridge, the Mogaung to Myitkyina exit gate, and the Mogaung to Mandalay exit gate, the militia leader is working together with the (3) military junta soldiers to collect bribes and extort money from the local people.

In addition, in the town, he also ordered the private KTV rooms where people can use drugs, massage parlors and KTVs, charging monthly fees, and sharing the profits from these businesses with the military junta.

“The people of Mogaung know everything. They work with the military junta to set up gates, and open the private KTV rooms. The city is very small like fried stuffed pastry. The Mogaung Bridge – Myitkyina exit gate, and Mogaung-Mandalay exit gate have all been closed for a long time. And he and his wife have been rich by taking the scots from them,” a Mogaung resident told BBM.

The militia leader’s wife, Mi Htwe, is also said to be arrogant and abusive towards the local people at the behest of her husband.

In addition, she often chooses to solve personal problems by using the guns,
she relies on her husband’s militia members.

“His wife, Mi Htwe, is even worse. She owned nothing before, but now she is just making money from her husband’s gatekeeping and collecting bribes. If there is something wrong, the militia members put their guns in the car and go and shoot at the people.”

Because of her abuse of the people, Mi Htwe, a female militia member from Mogaung, was arrested by the KIA in recent years, given a warning, and released.

Since the KIA arrested her, the militia leader’s wife has only been accompanied by security guards when she goes out, and has become more arrogant towards the people.

“That militia leader’s wife was once captured by the KIA and released. The main reason was that she was arrogant towards the people. Since she was released, she has been going everywhere with her disciples.”

In Mogaung, the militia leader and her group not only cooperate with the military junta to set up checkpoints, but also often lead them when they conduct military operations in nearby areas.
