Two civilians were shot dead in the Yumar village and Mashi Kahtaung area, which are mainly controlled by the military junta, on the Hpakant-Hseng Taung road in Hpakant Township.

On November 5, at around 8:30 p.m., a man riding a motorcycle was shot dead near the Mashi Kahtaung district office on the Hpakant – Hseng Taung road.

On the night of the incident, gunfire was heard near the Mashi Kahtaung district office, and the shooting occurred, but it has not yet been confirmed by which group carried out the killing.

“Yes, we still don’t know who shot which group or who shot them. They were shot at around 10:30 last night. They were shot on a motorcycle on the Mashi Kahtaung Road. They were shot near the office in Mashi Kahtaung Ward, which is on Hpakant – Mashi Kahtaung,” a local resident told BBM.

In addition, a civilian was shot dead yesterday on the Yumar road, which is the Hpakant – Hseng Taung road.

“A civilian was also shot dead in Yuma, the one without the motorcycle is on the Yumar road, and this is on the Hpakant -Hseng Taung road, and he was shot dead in the Yumar village area,” the local added.

The revolutionary forces are located in the Hseng Taung area of ​​Hpakant Township, and the military junta has major bases in the Yumar and Mashi Kahtaung areas on the way to Hseng Taung.

In addition, both sides have been known to get these areas in civilian clothes in the past, and there have been shootings as they can get the first.

Since the military junta’s return to Hpakant in April and May, including this incident, there have been at least three incidents of unproven shootings in Hpakant Township, and it is not possible to confirm which group carried out the shootings.

“There has been no statement on which group fired the shots or which group conducted this. There were cases in the past, when there was the military junta, the revolutionary forces fired shots, and when there were revolutionary forces, the military junta raided the area. Some other local sources said that the current incident was carried out by the military junta group’s night patrols, but BBM has not been able to confirm this accurately.
