🟥 The military junta often burnt down civilians’ homes when it had to retreat

The military junta groups daily use attacks with aircraft, artillery, drones, and ground forces to retake Bamauk township in upper Sagaing Region, but it suffered casualties and injured.

MOD battalions and allied KIA forces jointly captured Bamauk township in the last week of September. During the battle was taking place, the military junta troops and SNA militia in Bamauk fled the town.

After that, the military junta sent more than 500 troops from Homalin Township, mostly cadets of the 33rd Brigade, to fight back against Bamauk, and they joined forces with the troops that fled during the battle of city capture was taking place, and are attacking the revolutionary forces every day.

When they attacked the revolutionary forces, they are also using Y-12s, drones, and heavy weapons in addition to ground forces, but the military junta troops are still resulting in casualties and injuring every day.

“The military situation in Bamauk is good on our side. The SNA is conducting an offensive every day. Since we have done the best defence, they are getting injured and retreating every day. If it doesn’t attack in the morning, they attack at night, and they don’t stop for a day. They are using not only drones and heavy weapons, but also Y-12s,” a revolutionary comrade from the Bamauk KPDF told BBM.

In addition, although the military junta’s 33rd Brigade is said to be the main force in the attack on Bamauk township, most of the uniformed troops are SNA and militia.

The forces attacking Bamauk township are mostly Shan Ni Army’s Militia (SNA), and many Shan Ni youth from the revolution within the Bamauk KPDF are also participating in the resistance.

“The 33rd Brigade that Homalin is said to have brought in reinforcements is mainly SNA and militia. They wear the uniforms of 33rd Brigade. Furthermore, they,who are now allied with the military junta,don’t deserve to be called Shan Ni because there are many Shan Ni youth like us among those defending Bamauk township,” the comrade added.

On November 7, the military junta, in collaboration with the SNA forces, attempted to enter the city after first dropping bombs from the aircraft on the western part of Bamauk, but they were attacked by the revolutionary forces and wounded were taken back.

It is also said that the military junta usually burns down civilians’ houses along the route of their retreat before withdrawing.

“Yesterday, they used Y-12 to bomb the area. It is getting worse every day. Every time they came, we saw the military junta who carrying dead bodies or injured soldiers back. They are not running out of people. If they retreat, they won’t retreat properly. They burnt everything along the way,” he added.

Bamauk is a township between Kachin State and Sagaing. The revolutionary forces captured the city within days, but the military junta has been attacking with superior forces for more than a month, but has not been able to retake it.
