The Revolutionary Joint Forces attacked a military junta column that was burning in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, killing 35 military junta members and fleeing, a spokesman of the People’s Servant Revolutionary Army told BBM.
A joint force of 120 Pyu soldiers, led by Captain San Nyunt Htun, from Saing Naing Kwayt village, Wetlet Township, under the command of Light Infantry Battalion 12, Infantry Battalion 42 and Regiment Division 33, attacked and destroyed the village of Ponnar from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on November 23.
The revolutionary forces prepared the best defense to attack the military junta’s line, and when the military junta’s line was in danger, they quickly changed from defense to offensive and attacked.
“The most important thing is that we were able to attack this line because of the good command plan, the comrades’ strong spirit, the will to fight, and their good military experience,” said a spokesman from the People’s Revolutionary-Wetlet.
During the battle, the military junta suffered 35 deaths, many injuries, and the disaster of military junta’s line. Then, the junta soldiers retreated to the nearest military base in Saing Naing Kwayt village.

11 MA1s, 3 MA2s, 10 MA3s, 2 MG 3, 1 RPG, 1 sniper, 3 BA100s (mortars), a BA90 (mortars), a grenade launcher, 16 magazines, 390 rounds of 5.56 ammo, 1719 rounds of 7.62 ammo, 4 RPG shells, 7 RPG cartridges, 10 bullet-proof helmets, 28 phones, 19 rifle grenades, and 7 grenades were seized from the military junta.
The attack was carried out by the No. (2) Shwebo District Commander’s plan and the No. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 17) Battalions, Wetlet Township People’s Defense Force, Hanlin District People’s Defense Force, Shwebo District Drone Group 2, No. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 17) Drone Groups, Drone Group from Wetlet Township People’s Defense Force and local People’s Defense Forces. Three comrades were injured (not seriously).
