🟥Over 30 junta soldiers and 3 revolutionary comrades were killed in the clash

A fierce clash broke out between the 99th Regiment Division and the revolutionary forces in Taungtha Township and the junta soldiers who were preparing to surrender were shot back at by each other, according to an official from Taungtha People Defense Force (TTA PDF).

On December 2, a column of over 200 junta soldiers from the 99th Regiment Division advanced in three groups to the areas in the south of Taungtha Township.

The revolutionary forces closely guarded in advance the first military group in the line, so the entire point was seriously injured, and while they were preparing to surrender, the military junta members from the second military group fired at the junta soldiers from the advanced point with heavy weapons and small arms.

“In fact, this line is a hard-bitten military column, I don’t think it was that strong. It was like tactics where a deep column formation advanced steadily towards our military line. There was a battle there. We got controlled the first line. When they were asked to surrender, they accepted. The second force that came later for supporting attacked those who were trying to surrender with heavy weapons and small arms. They used a lot of heavy weapons, even 40- and 60-mm cannons,” an official from TTA PDF told BBM.

However, when the battle lasted for almost (3) hours, the revolutionary forces were forced to retreat due to lack of weapons, ammunition, and bullets, and three (3) comrades were killed in the battle.

The attack was carried out in cooperation with the TTA-PDF and its allies, One More Column, DSNDA (Danu State National Defense Army), PPGF (Popa), and the Wea Laung District People’s Defense Group (Taungtha).
