A major also deserted

The revolutionary force has announced that 14 comrades from the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), have been declared deserters.

The list of those who have been declared deserters is that of comrades who deserted from the MSRF between 2024 and January 20, 2026.

In addition, the MSRF statement also states that comrades Naing Zwe Aung, Naing Htwe (aka Apaw), Naing Htun Aye, Naing San Aye, Naing Banyar, Naing Khara, Naing Nyan Thaik, Naing Aung Non, Naing Min Htun, Naing Thaik Htaw, Naing Aung Zana, Naing Haung Chan and Naing Din have deserted within the past two years.

“Two of them escaped this year, the others are from previous years, escaped while on the front lines, and went home without making contact,” a source close to the Mon State Revolutionary Force told BBM.

The people who fled did not flee in groups, but alone (or at most two) escaped.

In addition, one of them deserted with weapons in time of war, but others did not take any weapons with them.

“We have lost contact with all of them, some have fled to Thailand. As far as we know, they did not join the military junta. Only they will know why they fled,” the military source said.

There are rumors that a major is among those who have deserted, but this has not been confirmed.

Therefore, BBM contacted the spokesperson of the Mon State Revolutionary Force, Mi Tala Nyan, but she refused to answer.

The Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), which was formed in August 2021, is under Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) and is carrying out military operations in Mon State and Tanintharyi Region and some townships with Mon, Karen, Dawei and PDF allied forces.
