Fighting has resumed in Somyan village near Falam Town, Chin State, and the Chin Revolutionary Forces have captured two military junta camps, a frontline military source told BBM.
The Chin Revolutionary Forces launched an offensive against the military junta, which had arrived in Somyan village to advance towards Falam Town, starting at 9 a.m. yesterday, January 18.
“We launched an offensive against the military junta troops who had taken up positions in Somyan village yesterday. The fighting lasted for two hours. We were able to capture two military junta camps in Somyan village,” a frontline military source told BBM.
The military junta suffered many casualties and suffered heavy losses, including the loss of fighter jets and drones, the airstrikes by Y12 aircraft also caused some casualties among the Chin resistance forces.
“When the fighting was intense, about 30 bombs were dropped, and that was because of their casualties, so they provided air support. Some of the revolutionary forces suffered casualties due to the air support, so we retreated,” a frontline military source told BBM.
The military junta, which has taken up a foothold in Somyan village, is a military junta column from Kalay Township that is advancing towards Falam town through Webula town.
The military junta troops are advancing through Webula town to retake Falam town, and also from Taingen village in Tetin township, and the military junta column from Taingen village is positioned in Khuanli village.
