According to local residents, the military council and the Pyu Saw Htee have been burning down Ywagyi village in Natogyi Township in Mandalay Region without any reason and have been looting public property at will.
On February 4, the military council and the Pyu Saw Htee had burned down the entire western part of Ywagyi village without any reason.
Ywagyi village is located on the Mandalay-Myingyan road and has a population of over a thousand. Since the last few months of 2025, almost the entire village has been displaced due to the military columnβs offensive.
Since the military council began to invade these villages, the villagers have been fleeing the war, and the junta has repeatedly burned down the village, and on February 4, the flames have been seen from nearby areas, a local resident told BBM.
βThey started burning the village again yesterday. They have been burning down and penetrating since last year. The fire has not been extinguished yet, and the entire village is almost destroyed.β
Besides, since the military began to invade the village, some have taken people belongings at their own will, and some have broken and destroyed things that they could not carry.
In addition, the local resident added that they have also intentionally destroyed family photos of local people that are useless to them, especially graduation photos.
βI have been fleeing my home since last year. When I returned to the village for a while, I found that I had no belongings left. All the rice pots that I had hidden were taken away. Some of the things that they couldnβt carry were broken. They also deliberately broke my photos, especially my graduation photos.β
The military council is cooperating with Pyu Saw Htee group led by Thida Yu Mon in Myingyan, Natogyi, and Taungtha Townships, so the revolutionary joint forces are also conducting defenses.
