Military council bombed on monastery, and killing 7 civilians, including novices, and seriously injuring 14 others
in Taze township, Sagaing Region, according to local residents.

Today, February 5, at around 10 a.m., while monks were eating alms, the military junta’s jet fighter bombed on the monastery in Thitsay Kone village in the northern part of Taze Township.

“A fighter jet bombed it twice, fired guns and fired rockets. The main building of the monastery and the car workshop were destroyed,” a local resident told BBM.

The airstrike killed 2 novices, three women and two shop workers were killed, and a young novice’s body was shattered by the bomb, and his body has not been found.

In addition, 14 civilians were injured, some of whom are in critical condition.

“More than 10 people were injured, some of whom are seriously injured and some are in critical condition. They have been moved to safer places and are receiving emergency medical treatment,” a local resident told BBM.

Fighting broke out near Thitsay Kone village bombed by junta, and the military council troops are bombing the civilians without any reason, without any military operations of PDF groups.

National Unity Government (NUG) reported that in the five years since the military coup, the military junta has carried out 4,750 airstrikes across the country, killing 5,188 civilians.
