KIA and PDF forces have not retreated from Bamauk town in Sagaing Region, but are surrounding and attacking the town, which is why the fighting in the town has not calmed down and is still fierce, a local man close to the revolutionary forces told BBM.
The military council has regained control of Bamauk town, but KIA and PDF joint forces have not abandoned the town, but are surrounding and attacking the area, which is why the fighting is still fierce.
“The rebel forces have to withdraw from the town, they have not abandoned the town, they are surrounding and fighting around the town,” a local man close to the rebel forces told BBM.
The military council has carried out nearly (100) offensive battles with its full force to retake Bamauk town over the past (5) months, in addition to airstrikes and heavy artillery were used in the attack.
The revolutionary coalition forces were forced to withdraw from Bamauk on February 8 after four months of control to minimize casualties.
“The military council forces have been using drones, airstrikes, and heavy weapons, so we had to retreat from the areas of downtown to minimize casualties. Although the military council has taken control of the city, the fighting is still fierce,” a local man close to the coalition forces told BBM.
Although the military council forces have regained control of Bamauk, the neighboring towns such as Pinlebu and Indaw are still firmly under the control of the coalition forces.
