After Naga had defected to the military junta, over 300 troops deployed in Pale Township, Yinmabin District, Sagaing Region, according to local military sources.
The military junta sent 200 soldiers to Kokko Kone Village, Pale Township, 10 times by MI-17 helicopter from the Northwestern military command – based in Monywa, a member of Yinmabin District People’s Defense Force told BBM.
Similarly, the military junta sent 6 six-wheeled vehicles and over 100 troops to the Wanbao Copper Project in Salinggyi Township, Sagaing Region, and these two military junta columns are deploying in the direction of Pale Town.
“They have sent about 200 soldiers to Pale Township by 10 MI-17 helicopters, and over 100 soldiers to Wanbao in Salinggyi Township by 6 six-wheelers. Both of these columns are advancing towards Pale Township. The people are fleeing to safe areas,” a member of the Yinmabin District People’s Defense Force told BBM.
Locals also said that due to the military council’s offensive, people who are living in Mya Kone, Kukko Kone, Zaydi Yone, Nwe Shauk, and Zaung Chan Kone villages in Pale Township are fleeing to nearby areas.
“There have been no clashes between the military council and revolutionary forces yet. It is because of these military junta columns that the people of more than 10 villages near Pale are fleeing.” A local defense force added.
On the morning of January 17 this year, People’s Defense Force (PDF) of the National Unity Government (NUG) entered the BNRA camps and engaged in clashes, and about 150 soldiers of the BNRA led by Nagar surrendered to the People’s Defense Force under the NUG.
While People’s Defense Force was trying to arrest Nagar, the military council troops evacuated Nagar and about 20 of his family members from Thettara village near Pale town in two MI-17 helicopters.
Currently, People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Yinmabin township has captured and controlled almost all of the BNRA camps, and People’s Defense Force (PDF) of the Yinmabin township has warned on the remaining comrades to surrender their weapons and ammunition, People’s Defense Force (PDF) said yesterday, February 19.
Similarly, the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced yesterday afternoon, February 19, that those who committed crimes will be prosecuted according to the law, and those who have not committed crimes can join the People’s Defense Force and NUG will make arrangements for the people’s defense forces to continue participating in the revolution and fight the juta together if they are willing.
