A local resident told BBM that two men were shot dead near the military council camp in Yumar village, Hpakant Township, Kachin State.
The bodies of the two men had signs of torture and were shot and dumped on the roadside.
“The bodies were dumped on the roadside in the morning of February 23. There were also signs of beatings and torture on the bodies,” a local man from Hpakant Township told BBM.
The identities of the two men who were shot are not yet known, nor is it known which armed group shot them.
“We don’t know who the bodies are. They haven’t been identified. And we don’t know which armed group shot them,” a local man from Hpakant Township told BBM.
The bodies were found today, February 23. It was reported that the victim was carried by a rescue organization from Seikmu village around noon.
Civilians were often shot and killed during the fighting in Hpakant Township.
On February 20, a man was found dead with gunshot wounds near Uru river.
