The military junta’s column, which marched from Kalay, Chin State, into Tedim Township, Chin State, has not been able to march for a month and a half, according to local sources.

On May 18, the military junta with a force of several hundred people launched a military incursion from Kalay, Sagaing Region, on the border with Chin State into Tedim Township,Chin State.

“The force is not that much.May be a hundred or more than two hundred is at most.” said a local resident who saw the military junta’s column.

Local sources say that the military junta’s column, which has been marching from Kalay to Tedim Township, Chin State, has been resisted by local Chin Defense Forces since May 21.

The wounded military junta’s column has not yet been able to march beyond the vicinity of Mawlapee village, fifteen miles away from Kalay, according to local news reports.

The Chin Defense Joint Force began resisting the military junta’s column that entered Chin State from Kalay on May 18 and began attacking on May 21.

On May 21, 6 members of the military junta that entered Chin State were reported to have contacted the UG team of the Kalay Urban Guerrilla (UG) Project, carrying two guns.

According to local news reports, at least 10 members of the military junta have been captured alive and their weapons seized from the military junta troops that entered Chin State.

Members of the military junta were injured or killed in the military junta’s column, but the exact number of casualties is not yet known.

A local from Kalay said that the military council’s column in Tedim Township, Chin State, is being supported by heavy weapons from nine miles away from Kalay.

“When they fire at night, we hear extremely loud explosive sounds. When it’s daytime, it’s not that loud.” said a local man from Kalay.

The Chin Defense Joint Forces also suffered casualties during the fighting in Tetin Township, Chin State.

In the June 26 clash, one CNA comrade, one CDF CDM Siyin comrade were killed and around 10 others were injured.

The military junta’s column marching from Kalay to Tedim Township is being jointly attacked by CDF CDM Siyin, CNA, CDF – KKG, Kalay People’s Defense Force, and Chin Nyi Naung members PDF – Zoland, CNDF.

In Chin State, southern Chin State has become a military junta-free area, while only the northern towns of Thantlang, Hakha, and Tedim in Chin State have military junta troops.
