A jet fighter was hit in the tail and a Y-8 aircraft suffered damage to its right propeller and fuel tank

At least six members of the military junta were killed and 12 others were injured when the Brave Warriors for Myanmar BWM’s Mission 42 attacked the Taungoo Air Force Headquarters in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, twice in one day with 107mm rockets,a military source told BBM.

On July 8, at 4:33 a.m., BWM’s Mission 42 successfully fired (11) 107mm shells at the Taungoo Township Air Force Headquarters (Kaytumadi) for the first time, and then at 11:55 p.m., BWM announced that it fired another 8 shells.

The BBM investigation found that the air force’s runway was damaged, the No. 2 fuel depot was also set on fire, the tail of a jet fighter was damaged, and the right propeller and fuel tank of a Y-8 military transport aircraft were burned.

A military source told BBM that many officers and soldiers were also injured, and that the military’s attached clinic was full of patients, so they were being rushed to the hospital in civilian vehicles.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) group, in collaboration with the Mountain Knight Civilian Defense Forces (MKCDF), the Anti-Coup People’s Liberation Force (ACPLF), the Thandaung Northern Special Region Group, and the KNLA Brigade 2 and Battalion 5, in a joint operation known as Mission 42.
